Is there nothing the iPhone can’t do?

I’ll admit that I’ve been hating on the iPhone. I really don’t want to get one, primarily because in my opinion there’s a very thin line between being an Apple user and an Apple Zealot and I don’t want to find myself lumped in with that crowd. I’d been holding out for the Garmin Nuviphone. I don’t know why but I’ve been infatuated with that device since it’s announcement.

With the addition of the new App Store, it seems as though I may finally be tempted over to the dark side. The functionality of the iPhone is virtually unlimited when you factor in the number and variety of free and low cost apps that can be added to it. Case in point below:

Henny makes beat on iPhone 3G using Beatmaker!!! from Henny on Vimeo.

It’s crazy to think that we live in an age where you can do these kind of things using a device that fits into your pocket. As much as I hate eating crow, I have to admit that the only thing stopping me from picking up an iPhone is the fact that I don’t want to leave T-Mobile as a service provider and can’t be bothered with all of the unlocking rubbish.
