When I go out, I spend a lot of time making observations about people, so that I can share with you, our loyal readers.
Last weekend, while nodding my head to the music, I had one such revelation.
I am a firm believer that there are two kinds of people in every nightclub that I’ve ever found myself in. There are people who go to be seen and those who go to be met. Now there are many tell-tale signs of what type a given person is, but in my humble opinion, the most obvious indicator is the act of wearing sunglasses indoors at night.
Allow me to explain… Beside the obvious impairing of vision and generally looking like a douche-nozzle (because no one truly needs sunglasses in a dark-ass club), more subtly the be-speckled club-goer denies him/herself of the all important, yet oft overlooked eye contact.
Pay attention, because you never know when you’re gonna be tested!
Below is a clip of a new internet TV startup known as blockgate TV. Why should you care? Because I did the opening animation, that’s why! I did the animation, the typography, the sound effects (most of them with my mouth) and found/modified the drum loop.
While I didn’t have anything to do with the rest of the show, I just wanted to showcase a little of my work, as this was my first foray into the world of animation:
Yeah, I know. I’m pretty awesome. The show’s not that bad either.
I found this morning that my first thoughts of the day were of yesterday. There’s a pretty good reason for this as I awakened to a pretty mild case of indigestion. You’d think I’d learn to stop eating IHOP at 1am. But as I learned (or rather, finally admitted) yesterday, I have a tendency to repeat mistakes.
