I has Sideswipe, originally uploaded by antgoo.
My Deluxe Class Autobot Sideswipe came in today. Sorry for the crappy cameraphone pics. He was one of the coolest Transformers in the new Revenge of the Fallen film, yet got probably the least amount of screen time.
Up top we have his vehicle mode, a Chevrolet Corvette Centennial Concept, and down below is the robot mode. The transformation is a little odd–I felt like I was going to break him in half rotating his legs up into his chest–but ultimately not the most complex I’ve seen.
I like the way his legs connect with tubes at the hips and how an actuator behind the knee causes blue kneecap panels to slide up and down. Wheels for feet look cool in the movie, but make posing the figure difficult as there aren’t too many poses where he can actually stand on his own.
I finally got around to sorting, culling and editing the 450 photos I took at the Lamborghini Experience at California Speedway (I seem to get a lot done when sleep is being elusive). Anyway, pop over to my Flickr page to see the rest of the photos.
This video combines lots of things I love: action figures + superheroes + kung fu + stop motion
Check out Bruce Lee going toe-to-toe with Iron Man. Who will win? My money’s on Bruce (as always):
Who hasn’t wanted to do this? [via xkcd.com... It's very funny, so check it out.]
Quote of the day: Gabe over at Videogum says this about the Where the Wild Things Are trailer:
This thing seriously looks scientifically designed to fuck up the hipsters’ shit. Do the math. Spike Jonze + Arcade Fire + Nostalgia + Magic + Monsters + Divorced Moms + Snowballs + Scribble Font + Shouting Off a Cliff. Throw in a scene in which the Wild Things are pounding PBRs while complaining about their freelance graphic design jobs, and Williamsburg would be washed away by a tidal wave of you know what…
Nice. Check out the trailer below or find it in HD @ Apple Trailers
